iba

Overview

iba was a digital e-commerce platform for books, magazines, and newspapers, operating as an internal startup within Grupo Abril, one of Brazil’s largest media groups. The brand was created by an external agency, and the in-house design team was responsible for building and applying the visual identity across all brand and marketing materials. I was part of that team for 1 to 2 years, working across digital and print touchpoints.

This project was the beginning of a brand journey I would follow through two further evolutions, iba clube and GoRead, giving me a deep and continuous understanding of the brand’s identity and audience.

The challenge

Taking a brand created externally and translating it into a consistent, functional design language for everyday use across multiple formats. Working in a startup environment within a large corporation meant moving fast and adapting constantly, while maintaining brand consistency across social media, email campaigns, banners, and print materials.

My role

As part of a small design team of 2 to 3 people, I contributed to developing the visual language from the brand guidelines and applying it across marketing and communications materials, including social media content, email campaigns, digital banners, and print assets.
